In 1989 the German production released a complete live recording. This recording has been tremendously successful, receiving a Universal Music Platinum Award (December 2005) for selling more than 400,000 records. This is particularly notable as there was also a German concept album released featuring the original cast, as well as a highlights album released two years later. This recording was re-released in 2003 with a dynamic photographic cover.
Interestingly, the German Production is now almost completely different from this recording, with many songs revised or replaced.
The soundtrack was dedicated to Annemiek Kloek, who sadly died of a heart condition in 1989, and played Wrench in Bochum at the time of recording.
