Booth singers add to the sound onstage from a recording booth backstage.

Some productions of Starlight Express, including the West End production and the first US tour, used booth singers to relieve pressure on the cast onstage, who sing and dance on roller skates. They were informally known as 'the Starlight Chorus' or 'the boothers'[1].
