Trained: Arts Educational Schools, London on the Musical Theatre course.
Theatre: Chicago showcases (UK and overseas promotional tour); Spare Carriage and understudy Dinah in Starlight Express (Japan Tour); Spare Carriage and understudy Buffy and Ashley in Starlight Express (London).
Concerts: Andrew Lloyd Webber's 50th Birthday Celebration (Royal Albert Hall); second annual Celebration of West End Musical Theatre (Palace Theatre, London).
Television: Top of the Pops special for Robbie Williams.
Promotional: Trade shows for Formula 1, Mercedes and Ford.
Biography (1991)[]
Jo-Leigh Whelan was born in Southport, Merseyside. She trained at Arts Educational Schools in the Musical Theatre Course. Her theatre experience includes: Guys and Dolls, The Wizard of Oz, Kiss Me Kate, The Matchgirls and has also appeared in several pantomimes. Having recently completed the Japanese tour of Starlight Express, Jo is happy to be making her West End debut with the London Company.
