Biography (1990)[]
Matthew Barrett was born in Bedford in 1970. He has two elder sisters and a twin brother. He began his dance training at the age of seven at the Sylvia Bell School of Dancing and Theatre Arts in Bedford.
In 1983 he and his sister danced with the Genee Ballet Company. Mattherw made his first television appearance in 1984 in a toothpaste advertisment and in 1985 he appeared in the television series Hilary with Marti Caine.
When he was thirteen, Matthew came to London to see Starlight Express and since then has wanted to appear in the show. In January of this year he was lucky enough to be in the Starlight Express company which toured Japan. He has noe achieved his ambition by being included in the London cast.
