2009 Biography[]
Melanie Firbank is a born and bred Aussie with the arts in her blood. After dancing for 16 years in Australia she decide to cross the ditch to New Zealand to further her training at the New Zealand School of Dance as a contemporary dance major. It wasn't long before Mel realised that she needed more theatrics in her life as she wanted to persue a career as an actor, so auditioned for and was accepted into Toi Whakaari: NZ Drama School where she also sang under the direction of Jane Keller. After theee long, intensive years Mel graduatedd in 2008 with a BPA in Acting.
Melanie was thrilled when she received the offer to be a part of Starlight Express and decided that a job where you dance, sing and act combined with the challenge of skating was an opportunity not to be missed.
