Biography (1988)[]
Born in Jamaica, West Indies, on 18 February 1961, Richard started skating at the age of nine. He left Jamaica in 1978 with the intention of becoming a performer, finishing high school and college in New York. Richard took first place in the 1980 R.S.R.O.A. competition to represent New York State and North East Coast. Richard toured America competing in Dance, Freestyle and Race skating as well as performing extensively in New York: Studio 54, Bonds, Roxy, etc. He has also done commercials for Pepsi Cola, Levi's and Lee and Skate Key Roller Rink. He studied dance at Steps Dance Studio. Richard would like to dedicate all his Starlight Express performances to his grandmother, Miss G. Walker, who was always there when he needed her.
